Work

I was in charge of creating and managing a blog website for Na'atik. It contains content ranging from delicious recipes to trendy vacations spots. It describes the tropical life in the Yucatan of Mexico. It also contains many articles relevant to the school including raising awareness of our fundraising program and featured students of the week. This blog helped direct traffic to their main website.

I was also in charge of creating and managing dual Twitter accounts and a YouTube page. I also helped manage and increase followers on their Facebook page. The first Twitter account, @MayaFacts, gives interesting facts of the ancient and modern Mayan people. The second Twitter account, @SAYProgram, was more spanish oriented and was used as a promotional tool for their study abroad program. Their Facebook is their main social media site and highly promotes their fundraising program. Lastly, the YouTube page was for video engagement of their online friends. Videos consisted of children in the classroom to teachers swimming with whale sharks.

I was in charge of creating advertisements to attract new members to group and to promote events. Unfortunately, most of these ads were either deleted or destroyed. This was the only one of mine that remain. These advertisements were placed inside dorms, academic buildings, and on library computer screens. This particular ad was promoting a book drive that would benefit in need school children and raise funds for the group.

Texas Olive Ranch Media Plan

We were given the task to create a media plan for an olive oil company based solely in Texas. We were challenged to make the media plan using only digital media. Examples of that would be social media, website banner ads, and Google AdWords. I was personally in charge of the Calender and Budget, the New Media Mix, the Competitive Analysis, and the Timing Considerations. A preview of these sections can be seen to the left.

Mary Kay Media Strategy

We were given the task to create a media stategy for Mary Kay cosmetics and show exactly how we would run this campaign. We needed to create our own media strategy, cost estimates,  media measurements, and a full year flowchart. I was personally in charge of the cost estimates, the media mix budget, the contigency plan, and the flowchart.

German Film Project

I was challenged to create a five-minute film for my advanced German class about any topic of my choosing. Because of my love of film, I naturally choose to research and create my project about Europe's oldest film studio, Studio Babelsberg, located near Berlin. I wrote, recorded, and edited an entire script exclusively spoken in German. All photos and video used are credited at the end of the film.

I was in charge of many things during my time at Roxo. I served as the primary media planner developing an extensive contact database for Easter Seals of North Texas, creating a basic media plan for Arty Water, and brainstorming media options for Alcon. I served as the primary photographer taking colleagues headshots, agency tour photos for social media use, and guerrilla marketing photos for Lone Star Film Festival. I helped out my peers by creating prototypes of logos for certain clients, I wrote a blog that was published on Roxology about a Washington D.C. trip to the PRSSA National Conference, and a partner and I wrote a new business proposal.

Roxo

My team and I were challenged to come up with and create a fully intergrated advertising plan for Pizza Hut. My partner and I was in charge of strategizing, planning, and budgeting all media. I was the go-to for all digital media related questions. We competed and presented our plan at District 10 regionals. We placed 4th overall and won the district's first ever Spirit Award. This award was presented to our team for our excellent sportsmanship, school pride, competitive respect, and enthusiasm.

I interned with the digital advertising agency Razorfish as a Digital Media Planner in Seattle, Washington. I specifically worked on Razorfish’s only global client, a tourism board, to build brand awareness, to drive cross-device web traffic to desired landing pages, to create a travel mindset for target audiences across the globe, and to ultimately drive consumers to book airline tickets and travel to an adventurous luxury destination. I worked specifically with media planners, strategists, account executives, and digital tracking and trafficking specialists. I spent a lot of my time with search engine marketing targeting, trafficking, and remarketing on google, yahoo, and bing. I worked on social media targeting and campaigning on Facebook and Instagram. And I communicated, planned, budgeted, and purchased digital space with display and programmatic partners. In addition to client work, I was also researched and reported on media trends, innovations, and market changes for multiple clients.
